25 years ago we established the Las Azucenas Biosphere, developing a proof of concept that we can cultivate Tropical Hardwood trees in an 18 year time period.

Two decades of forest restoration and sustainable development
We have proven we can cultivate high value tropical hardwood trees to maturity in 18 years.
We restored a dead rainforest to its former natural grandeur and splendor.
The Las Azucenas Biosphere now protects a combined 1000+ endangered species of trees, plants, insects, and animals.
45 hectares of degraded cattle farmland now home to tens of thousands of high-value tropical hardwood trees.
There are three types of prized hardwoods on the farm: Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla King), Cedar (Cedrela odorata L.) and Rosewood (Ciricote Cordia dodecandra Dc.)
The forest is managed by professionals with 30+ years of experience in cultivating tropical hardwoods. Read about Javier below:

Three types of prized hardwoods cultivated at Las Azucenas
Known as 'Green Gold,' Mahogany is one of the most valuable tropical hardwoods. It grows to impressive heights and produces high-quality timber used in luxury furniture and construction.
Spanish Cedar is prized for its aromatic wood and resistance to insects. It's widely used in cigar boxes, furniture, and musical instruments, making it a highly sought-after species.
A lesser-known but highly valuable species native to Central America. Ciricote produces dense, beautiful wood used in fine furniture and specialty applications.

We practice selective harvesting that maintains forest biodiversity and supports responsible forestry over time.
Regular environmental assessments ensure our practices meet international sustainability standards and maintain forest ecosystem health.
We work closely with local communities, providing employment and supporting sustainable development initiatives that benefit both people and forest.
